It’s one thing when trying to get into your opponents head and then there is actually taking a kick to the head.
David “One More” Round learned this the hard way at Superior Challenge 14 – Stockholm last month in Sweden. Round was matched up against Sadibou Sy and as you can see from the weigh-in video above, Round got the mind games going early getting right in Sy’s face with a few words to say (at 2:00 of the weigh-in video). Round flipped the middle finger to Sy, who cracked a smile through all of it surely couldn’t wait for them to step into the cage.
It didn’t take long for Sy to get his revenge on Round for the weigh-in antics as they exchanged standing up. Round then put his hands down and stuck his head out taunting Sy to hit him and that is exactly what Sy did. Sy connected with a vicious head kick that sent Round down to the mat causing the referee to jump in and call an end to the bout at 41 seconds of the very first round. However, once Sy connected with the kick and put Round down, he knew it was over as he walked away just looking at his downed opponent.
