Ronda Rousey

With just over 24 hours to go until former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey returns to the Octagon at UFC 207, the champ is giving combat sports fans one last reason to “fear the return”.

Rousey took to social media to post a side-by-side photo of herself from UFC 184, where she fought and defeated Cat Zingano in just 14 seconds, and herself from just 5 days before her UFC 207 return against Amanda Nunes.

The difference is rather impressive, and Rousey looks absolutely shredded in the photo that was supposedly taken just five days before UFC 207.

At the present time, Rousey is the betting favorite according to Bovada, coming in at -150, to the champ’s +120. To simplify the above numbers, it would take a $150 bet on Rousey to potentially win $100, while a $100 bet on Nunes could potentially win you $120.

Despite being the underdog, the champ has been on quite the tear of the UFC women’s bantamweight division, going on a 4-fight win streak over the course of the last two years, which most recently saw her submit Miesha Tate at UFC 200 to win the UFC championship.

Nunes’ first, and only, UFC loss came at the hands of Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in September, where she had her two-fight win streak snapped. Following the loss, Nunes has rattled off four straight wins, which includes her recent win over Tate.

While Rousey is looking extremely shredded, leading up to the fight, Nunes has stated that Rousey will never get the women’s bantamweight strap back:

“I’m ready to take this belt home,” Nunes said. “This is a dream right here. She had her time and she let it go. Now, it’s a huge problem because she’s not going to have this belt back ever again.”
