Rampage Jackson responds to callout from 50 Cent

Quinton Rampage Jackson, 50 Cent

Last night, rapper 50 Cent took to social media to make a bizarre callout of Bellator light heavyweight and heavyweight star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. 50 made his callout of Rampage in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

“Don’t get it fucked up, I’m the baddest Jackson around this motherfucker,” said the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson. “Now if we can get the money right Rampage got a problem on his hands.”

Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for the ever-outspoken Rampage to respond to this callout from 50. Apparently, he’s as confused by the rapper’s callout as the rest of us were. The befuddled fighter issued this response on Instagram.

“Is 50 serious?” Rampage said in his post.

While 50 Cent seems keen to join Jose Canseco, CM Punk and Ray Mercer in the holy pantheon of non-fighters who have competed in MMA, it’s unlikely that this bout with Rampage will happen. That being said, the rapper does seem to be working with Bellator on some level, as he recently met with company President Scott Coker, and has been engaging with Bellator 199 headliners Ryan Bader and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

While 50 has never fought, and is unlikely to ever do so, Rampage has a long and storied career in the MMA arena. His last fight occurred in January, when he lost a decision to Chael Sonnen in the opening round of Bellator’s exciting heavyweight Grand Prix. This bout was preceded by another decision loss to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal. These losses were preceded by five-straight wins, as he defeated Joey Beltran, Christian M’Pumbu, King Mo, Fabio Maldonado, and Satoshi Ishii.

Do you think we’re going to see 50 Cent in the Bellator cage?
