Paul Felder took on Franscisco Trinaldo in a lightweight bout on the main card of UFC Fight Night 95 last night in Brazil.
After a back and forth opening round, Trinaldo was able to get Felder to the floor in round two where he unleashed some solid ground and pound highlighted by some viscous short elbows. One of those elbows caused a cut to open up above the right eye of Felder. At the end of the second round a bloodied Felder returned to his corner where he had the cut worked on.
By the time round three began, the bleeding above his eye had subsided and Paul was ready to go.
The fighters exchanged some good shots early in the final round before Trinaldo eventually connected with a left hand that caused the aforementioned cut to burst wide open.
The referee quickly stepped in so that the doctor could take a look at the nasty gash.
The doctor took one look and waved the fight off.
Late last night, UFC president Dana White took to Twitter where he shared the following two gruesome photos of Paul Felder’s brutal cut.

The loss snapped Paul Felder’s two-fight win streak, as he had previously scored victories over Josh Burkman and Daron Cruickshank respectively.
Meanwhile, Francisco Trinaldo is now poised for a high-profile lightweight fight as he has won seven in a row. The Brazilian’s last loss came to Michael Chiesa via decision at UFC 173 in May of 2014.
