One of Bellator’s biggest names does not seem too happy with the organization as of late and it appears he wants out. Paul Daley first fought for Bellator in 2012 where he earned a TKO win over Ruby Bears before leaving only to return as an exclusive fighter for Bellator in 2015. Daley has gone 5-2 since 2015 with all but one of his wins coming by way of knockout. His only two losses come to the men competing in tomorrow’s Welterweight title fight between Rory MacDonald and the champion, Douglas Lima.
Recently, we’ve seen back and forth heat between Daley and mega-hot prospect, Michael “Venom” Page. The two were expected to fight at some point but it never came to fruition. Daley still wants the fight…but at this point, he seems done with all the drama and what he believes is unfair treatment as he said in a post on Facebook:
Scott Coker talking about Page at the Bellator presser, Bellator are Sooooooo on ass it’s sickening 🤢 He hasn’t fought MMA in how long, his last performance in boxing and MMA were terrible.
I beat Lorenz Larkin former UFC guy, top 6 when he left the organisation…by KO and they sweep it under the rug? and then sideline me….
I’m gonna Fight out my contract…..THAT MVP Fight WONT BE HAPPENING…under the Bellator banner anyways….So FUCK Bellator, 18 more month in this game and two more fights for Bellator and I’m done. 🤛
Daley last fought at Bellator 183 where he knocked out recent Bellator Welterweight title challenger and former top 10 UFC Welterweight, Lorenz Larkin. With a seasoned record of 40-15-2, Daley still proves to be a very lethal opponent at the age of 34. If he really does leave Bellator it begs the question as to where will he end up? Some may very well want to see a second stint in the UFC…but how likely is that after he punched Josh Koscheck after the bell in 2010? As most will remember, UFC President, Dana White said after that fight that Daley would never fight in the UFC again. To this day, that has remained true.
