After weeks of speculation, it’s official. Former UFC welterweight and lightweight star Sage Northcutt is the latest high profile free agent to sign on the dotted line and join the ONE Championship roster.
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the news just moments ago.

Sage Northcutt will make his ONE debut on a three-fight win streak, having recently defeated Michel Quiñones and Thibault Gouti by decision and Zak Ottow by knockout. His last loss occurred in late 2017 when he was submitted by Mickey Gall. He’s currently a strong 11-2 overall.
ONE Championship’s welterweight division, where Sage Northcutt is likely to fight, is currently ruled by Sweden’s Zebaztian Kadestam. Kadestam recently KO’d Tyler McGuire to claim the promotion’s vacant welterweight title, which was left behind by Ben Askren. The ONE welterweight division is also home to dangerous competitors like Luis “Sapo” Santos, Daichi Abe, Tyler McGuire, and perhaps former UFC welterweight Yoshihiro Akiyama, who also recently signed with the promotion.
Sage Northcutt joins the ONE Championship roster shortly after the promotion’s signings of former UFC and Bellator lightweight Eddie Alvarez and former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. The promotion also recently announced that former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is joining their team as an executive and commentator in the New Year.
How do you think Sage Northcutt will do in ONE Championship?
