ONE Championship has been making all sorts of moves lately and they don’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. UFC lightweight/welterweight prospect ‘Super’ Sage Northcutt appears to potentially be next.
Currently a free agent, the 11-2 Northcutt is visiting Singapore where he attended last night’s ONE: Heart of the Lion pre-fight press conference and then is also set to attend the event itself on Friday night.
Due to his free agent status, it seems pretty obvious as to why the 22-year old would be over in Singapore right now and he confirmed why that is at yesterday’s presser when speaking with Andrew Whitelaw.

“You know what, I’m over here actually in Singapore right now to talk with [ONE CEO] Mr. Chatri [Sityodtong] about possibly being a ONE Championship fighter. That’s what I’m talking about, that’d be cool!”
It would be fairly surprising to see the young prospect leave his recent home of the UFC as he’s been treated very well with them in terms of promotion and pay. One would have to think that ONE will be offering up some very good deals for the Katy, Texas native.
Northcutt’s two lone career losses came in the UFC in welterweight bouts against Bryan Barberena and Mickey Gall (both submission losses). He currently rides a three-fight winning streak and holds a UFC record of 6-2.
Northcutt joined the UFC after winning a Legacy FC bout that was attended by UFC President Dana White and co. during the filming of an episode of Dana White: Lookin’ For a Fight. Thus getting the eyeballs and attention on Northcutt much sooner rather than later.
Wherever Northcutt ends up, he’s proven to be able to provide a star quality for where ever that may be. And with youth on his side, that could be for quite a long time.
