Following an announcement from UFC President Dana White that the promotion had offered Nate Diaz a fight, inside sources have now leaked the details of the fight.
According to SmackHisFace.com, Diaz will return at UFC 211 to fight former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in a fight that could very well see the winner ultimately fight the winner of Conor McGregor vs. either Khabib Nurmagomedov or Tony Ferguson. While there has been no official word from the promotion on the matter, Alvarez took to Instagram to hint at his next fight, without giving details as to who his opponent could be.
Alvarez of course is coming off a 2nd round TKO loss to McGregor at UFC 205, where he lost the UFC lightweight championship in a historic title fight that saw McGregor claim the lightweight championship in a flawless performance. Diaz on the other hand is fresh off a majority decision loss to McGregor back in 2016 that saw McGregor avenge his UFC 196 loss to Diaz.
If this news is indeed true, expect an announcement from the UFC shortly.
