As we reported yesterday after the early weigh-ins, Mizuto Hirota had a pretty gnarly trip to the scale. Tons of fans and media were posting following the appearance on social media, all concerned about the fighter’s well-being. He appeared to almost faint a couple of times, as well as being held up staff and his team during the ordeal. Finally, it looks like after sleeping on it, the UFC and it’s officials have deemed Hirota to be unfit to compete and he is officially of the fight card tonight.

“Hirota was pulled from his fight against Charles Rosa at UFC Japan due to health and safety reasons, a UFC source told MMA Fighting on Thursday night. The UFC medical staff determined the Japanese fighter to be unfit to compete, the source said. A statement confirmed the news Thursday night.” – As reported by MMA Fighting. 

The former DEEP and Sengoku lightweight champion, Mizuto Hirota weighed in yesterday at 150 pounds for his featherweight bout with Charles Rosa. It would have been his third fight for the UFC, after making his debut after Road to UFC: Japan where he ended up fighting Teruto ishihara to a draw in the show’s climax. Hopefully, Hirota can bounce back and fight again soon and enjoy a healthier weight cut.
