With “Platinum” Mike Perry rising through the ranks, it is a dangerous time to be a UFC welterweight. As it turns out, Perry’s existence also means that it’s a tough time to be a pumpkin.
On Tuesday, Perry shared a video to Instagram that shows him treating a group of defenceless pumpkins the same way he’s been treating his opponent’s heads in the Octagon. Apparently, this is how he trains on Halloween. Watch it above.
Since debuting with the UFC in August of 2016, Mike Perry has gone 4-1, sandwiching a decision loss to Alan Jouban between violent knockout wins over Hyun Gyu Lim, Danny Roberts, Jake Ellenberger, and most recently, Alex Reyes, who replaced Thiago Alves on short notice.
At present, Perry is scheduled for a December 16 scrap with Santiago Ponzinibbio in Winnipeg, though his most heated rival is undeniably rising British striker Darren Till, who called him out after a recent drubbing of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
The UFC’s December 16 card, which will air on Fox, will also feature a welterweight contender bout between former champions Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos, a featherweight rematch between former champ Jose Aldo and former challenger Ricardo Lamas, a light heavyweight clash between Misha Cirkunov and Glover Teixeira, and a number of other compelling fights.
