UFC welterweight standout “Platinum” Mike Perry (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) suffered a unanimous decision loss to Max Griffin this past February in his hometown of Orlando.
The loss served as Perry’s second in a row as he had previously been defeated by Santiago Ponzinibbio via decision at UFC on FOX 26 in Winnipeg.
After coming up short on points in his two most recent octagon appearances, Mike Perry has decided to take his tools to the Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico for sharpening.
The brash welterweight will return to the octagon at next weekend’s highly anticipated UFC 226 event in Las Vegas where he will square off with the always game Paul Felder.
Perry was initially slated to face Yancy Medeiros at the event, however the Hawaiian was forced to withdraw from the contest after suffering a rib injury.
While Mike Perry is clearly focused on getting back to his winning ways in his upcoming fight with Felder, he hasn’t forgot about his most recent opponent Max Griffin.

Prior to suffering his two most recent setbacks, “Platinum” had gone 4-1 over his first five octagon appearances with all four victories coming by way of knockout.
Perry’s most notable victory came against veteran Jake Ellenberger in April of 2017, who he finished in spectacular fashion via a brutal standing elbow (watch that here).
As for Max Griffin (14-4 MMA), “Pain” will also be returning to action at UFC 226 when he squares off with Curtis Millender.
