Many fans were furious after they found out about the racist insults that were made towards Hyun Gyu Lim from Mike Perry’s corner.
On Tuesday, fellow UFC fighter Alex Nicholson came out with a short statement on twitter and said, “I respect every man who steps in the cage and my comments were insensitive towards lim I was hype for my brother but It’s all love no hate.”

Mike Perry was a guest on The MMA Hour on Monday and responded to the situation as if it was no big deal.
“What did he say? People may have taken it wrong,” Perry questioned (transcribed by MMA Fighting). “I think people’s opinion on this has been blown way out of proportion and they need to calm down.”
When Perry was told it was about the Korean fighter’s features, he seemed to shrug it off like it wasn’t a big deal.
“I don’t know,” Perry said. “I don’t think any of my competition can see me, and when I hit Lim I opened a lot of people’s eyes.”
