Mike Perry releases statement following hometown loss to Max Griffin at UFC Orlando.

UFC welterweight Mike Perry (11-3 MMA) suffered his second straight setback at tonight’s UFC on FOX 28 event in his hometown of Orlando, dropping a unanimous decision to Max Griffin on the evening’s main card.

Griffin was able to get the better of Perry in the stand up department for the majority of their fifteen minute battle and even dropped Mike in the contests second-round.

With that said, the always-tough Perry continued to press the action throughout the fight and went for the kill right until the final horn sounded to end the three-round main card contest.

After earning back-to-back highlight reel knockouts over opponents Jake Ellenberger and Alex Reyes, Perry has now lost two fights in a row and has fallen out of the welterweight divisions title picture.

With that said, Perry is now planning on taking some time off to get “back to the drawing board”.

“Platinum” took to Twitter where he issued the following statement to his fans while congratulating Max Griffin on his victory.

“Back to the drawing board. I’m gonna enjoy some time off. Good job @maxPAINmma . . . The love and support from my friends and loved ones is great and that’s all that matters right now. I’m still me so if you hating #DigAHole #JumpRightIn” – Mike Perry

Perry has now gone 4-3 since joining the UFC ranks in August of 2016, where he scored a first-round knockout victory over Hyun Guy Lim at UFC 202.
