UFC welterweight Mike Perry made quite the impact on the UFC’s welterweight division in 2016. Entering into the promotion a perfect 7-0 in his professional career, with all of his wins being KO/TKO wins.
When Perry stepped into the Octagon against Hyun Gyu Lim at UFC 202 in August, it took him just over three minutes to pick up a TKO win over the UFC vet, and secure himself his first UFC win. Perry continued to make waves in the division through the media through training camp leading up to his next fight, a UFC 204 scrap with Danny Roberts. Perry won that fight too, picking up a late third round KO win over Roberts, and advancing to 2-0 in the UFC.
Unfortunately for Perry, his undefeated win streak was snapped earlier this month when he dropped a one sided unanimous decision to Alan Jouban, who picked Perry apart over the course of three rounds, dropping him several times in the process.
Now, looking to return to the win column in 2017, Perry took to Twitter to reveal a board his girlfriend made him, showing the top ranked UFC welterweights. Perry then pulls Albert Tumenov’s picture off the board, calling out the #19 ranked welterweight.
He states in the video:
“I would love to get that fight. Albert Tumenov, what do you say man? Let’s do it. I want your #19 spot.”

Tumenov was quick to take to Twitter and respond, saying:
@PlatinumPerry watch my fight with Jouban and think twice that's my advise, before challenging me.

While Perry recently suffered the first loss of his career, Tumenov is currently on a 2-fight skid that saw him close out 2016 by dropping back to back submission losses.
