Hamill was able to connect with a hard left hook followed by a right hand and then a series of uppercuts that sent Cane crashing to the canvas.
The win snapped Hamill’s recent four-fight losing skid and improved his professional mixed martials arts record to 13-8 overall.
The 40-year-old hearing impaired fight, Hamill, has had a very remarkable MMA career despite not winning a world title.
“The Hammer” holds notable wins over Tito Ortiz, Keith Jardine, Tim Boetsch and Mark Munoz during his 21-fight career.
Hamill also serves as the lone blemish on Jon Jones’ professional mixed martial arts record of 22-1.
“Bones” was disqualified for using 12-6 elbows in his fight with Hamill in December of 2009, thus resulting in the lone setback of his career.
Meanwhile, Luiz Cane (17-7, 1 NC) was riding a three-fight win streak coming in to the bout with Hamill.
The Brazilian knockout specialist, Cane, had won five of his past six fights since leaving the UFC in 2012.
