Last weekend, on the main card of the UFC’s action-packed stop in Norfolk, Virginia, Matt Brown stepped into the cage with Diego Sanchez for a bout that he suggested would probably be the last of his career. He won this bout with flying colors, putting Sanchez down with a violent elbow in the first round.

While this bout was expected to be Brown’s retirement fight, he has since suggested he needs a bit more time to think about it.

“To be honest, I’m not even thinking about it right now,” Matt Brown told MMAjunkie shortly after his win. “It’s not even really a thought in my mind. I’m thinking about enjoying tonight, and we’ll talk about it later.”

If Brown does indeed decide against retirement, then he seems to have a willing opponent for his next bout: veteran slugger Siyar Bahadurzada. Bahadurzada called Brown out on Twitter on Monday morning.

“Hey [Matt Brown] f you’re still fighting, take some rest and let’s fight end of January or early February,” Bahadurzada said on Twitter. “I’ll give you a proper goodbye from the sport. Don’t bring your wife and kids to the fight this time. You’re a smart man. You know what I mean! #YouWillBeUnimmortalized”

With his massive knockout win over Sanchez, Matt Brown corrected a three-fight losing streak. Bahadurzada, meanwhile, is on a two-fight streak, having recently bested Brandon Thatch and Rob Wilkinson.
