Khabib Nurmagomedov is still very upset that he received two contracts to fight UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and still has not bout agreement to fight the lightweight champ.
Nurmagomedov signed both of the contracts to fight Alvarez at either UFC 205 or UFC 206. Nurmagomedov says that he was used by the UFC to negotiate the bout that eventually was signed to headline UFC 205, which is Eddie Alvarez vs. Conor McGregor.
In September, “The Eagle” tweeted, “I have two bout agreements that bullshit champ refuses to sign. I got used the whole time to make Conor and Eddie get on their knees and beg.”

Another tweet followed saying, “Just for the record @Ealvarezfight and @TheNotoriousMMA fear me I’m just a man. Your time will come to get my hands on you.”

Eventually, Nurmagomedov was given a fight with Michael Johnson and the two will also meet at UFC 205. “The Eagle” has stated that if he doesn’t get a title shot after he wins at UFC 205, he will never fight for the UFC again and he will make sure that the promotion never hosts an event in his home country, Russia.
As Nurmagomedov states that he was being used by the UFC to put pressure on McGregor and Alvarez for their fight negotiations, it seems that “The Eagle” was upset at MMA journalist Ariel Helwani for not helping to spotlight his situation.
In the video interview above with Helwani and Nurmagomedov, you come to find out that “The Eagle” blocked Helwani on twitter. It also seems that a communication error with phone numbers had Helwani thinking that Nurmagomedov was simply ignoring all of his text messages and calls.
The athlete and journalist eventually ironed out their differences in the midst of their entire interview and it seems as if they can get back to friendly once again.
