The clash between the top two UFC lightweights looks like it just on the verge of being finalized.
#1 ranked UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov and #2 ranked UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson have been in a social media war and things seem to be on track for a lightweight title eliminator fight.
On Tuesday, Nurmagomedov posted on social media that he had signed a bout agreement and that his opponent would be announced very soon.
Ferguson replied to “The Eagle’s” post and said, “I Agreed To Fight You, Now Need To Agree On Terms… Ball Is In Their Court. Sounds Like They Don’t Want You To Lose Bud.”

The two top lightweights in the UFC are ready to battle it out and make their case to challenge for the UFC lightweight title, which will likely be a huge fight with Conor McGregor currently holding the 155-pound title.
McGregor recently won the UFC lightweight championship belt after putting on a brilliant performance against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November, putting away the then-lightweight champion out by TKO in the second round of their title fight.
Since then, McGregor has stated that he would be taking time off for the birth of his first child, due in the summer of 2017. UFC President Dana White recently stated that “The Notorious” will be taking 10 months off to have his baby, which means that we likely won’t see a fight with McGregor before September 2017.
