Many people tend to get a little bit bolder when they have some liquid courage in them.
We’ve seen countless videos on the Internet of drunken everyday folks test who want to test their combat skills against bouncers and sometimes trained fighters who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Now picture one of these drunken brave souls trying to give a hard time to undefeated #1 UFC ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“The Eagle” explained a recent incident involving a drunk man when he was visiting the states. Fortunately for the drunken soul, the incident took place on American soil, where Nurmagomedov coming from Russia, does his best to stay out of any incidents that will get him involved with the police.
“I had an incident in America,” Khabib explained during a recent interview with ToFight.ru (translated by Bloody Elbow). “When I was standing at the cash register, there is a drunken man bothering those who stood in front of him. He stood in front of me. When he came to me, I told him “Calm down, I’m a professional fighter.”
Nurmagomedov explained that when the drunken individual realized he was a professional fighter, the man sobered up and acted much more politely. Luckily for drunk man, “The Eagle” explained that he was much more forgiving of the American, which might not have been the case elsewhere.
“In the Caucasus, we do not talk and say I am a man, leave me alone,” Khabib added. “In America, I have to say it. Because if I fought there, then I would have to answer before the law. You could put me jail. I warned him, and he abruptly sobered up. I told him ‘I am a professional fighter. I can break your face. You have to calm down.’”
Khabib Nurmagomedov is expected to fight the #2 UFC ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson in a title eliminator fight to determine who will take on Conor McGregor next for the UFC lightweight title.
