In the last couple of weeks, we’ve gotten a tsunami of fight announcements for cards closing out the year. Back on September 14th, we let you guys know that a contender scrap between Justin Gaethje and Eddie Alvarez would be put on the UFC 218 card. It looks like our forecast has finally been officially confirmed by Mark Henry on Instagram. UFC 218 has quickly become one of the hands-down best cards of the year.

Coach Mark Henry will have his hands full. Frankie Edgar, also trained by Henry, will challenge Max Holloway for the UFC featherweight title on the same card. Which is also a fight we had broke the news about. Justin Gaethje made a huge impact in the UFC after taking out top-five Michael Johnson. A fight with former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has the power to grant him number one contender status for either a fight with the winner of Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee, or maybe a fight with Conor McGregor if the win is devastating enough. Either way, you’re not going to want to make any plans on Saturday, December 2nd when UFC 218 goes down in Detroit.
