Brandon Thatch (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will make his UFC debut on August 28 when he squares off with fellow welterweight Justin Edwards (8-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC).

The Colorado-based fighter, Thatch, signed with the promotion a month ago and is currently riding an 8-figth win streak, with all eight wins coming by form of 1st round stoppage. Thatch’s lone pro loss came back in 2008 under the Strikeforce banner, where he lost a close split-decision to Brandon Magana.

Meanwhile, the “TUF 13” veteran, Justin Edawrds, is coming off a huge win over Josh Neer, whom he submitted at UFC on FX 5 this past October in Minneapolis. Prior to his submission of Neer, Edwards was coming off a decsion loss to Josh Maguire, which he suffered in 2011.

UFC on FOX Sports 1 2 takes place August 28 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The event is headlined by a welterweight clash between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.
