This week it was revealed that former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao would be going up to featherweight to fight Jeremy Stephens on May 29th.
While the reports have yet to be officially confirmed by the UFC, Jeremy Stephens took to Twitter today to start a war of words with Barao, also revealing that the bout will be taking place in Vegas rather than Brazil as initially reported.
This dude will regret coming up to 145 w/ first mouth shot….
Knocking Brazilians out is my forte. #LineEmUp#May29 pic.twitter.com/LUkfBMvEvm— Jeremy Stephens (@LiLHeathenMMA) March 17, 2016
One media guy claims the fight is in Brazil and all media outlets run with it….. #FightIsInVegas #NotBrazil 😂😂

Stephens is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway back at UFC 194 in December, whereas Barao is coming off a TKO loss to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC on FOX 16 back in July. The loss was the second one for Barao when facing Dillashaw, and with Dominick Cruz as the UFC bantamweight champion once again, the road back to a bantamweight title shot would likely be a long one for Barao.
