Just one day out from UFC 211, another fight has been nixed from the card.

UFC featherweight Jared Gordon was pulled from his fight against Michael Quinones after being admitted to the hospital.

Gordon wrote the following message on Facebook this morning:

“Unfortunately I will not be fighting tomorrow. Everything was going smooth last night when I turned sick at about 8-9 pm. I was experiencing food poison symptoms. I was admitted to the hospital, along side UFC’s doctor. I was advised to use an IV, by both ER and UFC’s doctor which would make me ineligible to fight because of USADA’s rules . Im extremely sorry to everyone who were going to attend and or watch. Just another bump in the road.”

The UFC also released a statement on Gordon being hospitalized and removed from the UFC 211 card.

UFC featherweight Jared Gordon was transported to Baylor University Medical Center early Friday morning due to medical issues. Gordon was treated and released. However, he was deemed unfit to fight by UFC consulting physicians.

The scheduled featherweight bout between Gordon and Michael Quinones at UFC 211 has been cancelled.

UFC 211 takes place Saturday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas live on Pay Per View at 10 p.m. / 7 p.m. ETPT. Stipe Miocic defends his heavyweight title against Junior Dos Santos in a rematch from a 2014 classic.

Jared Gordon was set to make his UFC debut at UFC 211. Gordon was discovered by UFC President Dana White on the “Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight” series.

Gordon is a two-time amateur champion and won the Duelo De Giagantes lightweight title in Mexico and the Cage Fury Fighting Championship featherweight title. Unfortunate incident for Gordon who will surely look to get back on another upcoming UFC card.
