Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm (10-3 MMA) is being targeted to return at June’s UFC Fight Night event in Singapore.
According to BJPENN.com’s very own Chris Taylor, “The Preacher’s Daughter” has been offered a bout against undefeated Korean fighter Ji Yeon Kim (6-0-2) for the June 17 event.
Holly Holm was last seen in action at February’s UFC 208 event in Brooklyn, where she took on Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight championship.
Unfortunately for fans of “The Preacher’s Daughter”, Holly was outpointed by “GDR” and lost the main event contest via unanimous decision.
After starting her mixed martial arts career a perfect 10-0, capturing the UFC’s women’s bantamweight title in the process, Holly has now dropped three-straight fights and is in desperate need of a win.
Holm lost her UFC women’s bantamweight championship to Miesha Tate at UFC 196 in March of 2016 via fifth-round submission. Following her title fight loss to Tate, Holm was matched up with rising star Valentina Shevchenko, who defeated Holly via unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, Ji Yeon Kim was last seen in action this past November where she scored a second-round submission victory (rear-naked choke) over Tao Li at the “Top FC 13” event in Seoul, South Korea.
Kim has scored an impressive four finishes in her six career mixed martial arts wins, earning three submissions and one TKO victory in that time.
According to Taylor’s report, all that is left is for the former women’s bantamweight champion (Holm) to sign on the dotted line.
I can confirm that Holly Holm has been offered a fight at #UFCSingapore on June 17. Stay tuned to @bjpenndotcom for all the details!
