Georges Saint Pierre allegedly asked for a whopping $10 million to fight UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, according to former champ Jose Aldo.

GSP, who has been in retirement since a 2013 split decision victory over Johnny Hendricks, was contemplating a UFC return amidst links to potential fights with Tyron Woodley who called GSP out, as well as Conor McGregor.

‘Mystic Mac’ has become quite the money fight, however, with two-time former opponent Nate Diaz earning an unprecedented $2 million at UFC 205 alone.

Former featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo revealed the massive $10 million payday to fight McGregor, who instead opted for a rematch with Diaz, who had submitted him at UFC 196 just months before.

“I think that my life and the whole featherweight division needs to keep going, not being stalled while he (McGregor) does three fights in the lightweight division. Another one that he wanted to do, make a super fight with Georges St-Pierre, which didn’t work out because Georges wanted 10 million dollars and Dana didn’t want to pay it. So he still put him with Nate for the second time. So for me, Dana’s word is worthless.”

Aldo has been more vocal than ever about his grievances with the UFC after asking the promotion to release him from his contract so he can retire from the sport entirely.

However, UFC president Dana White said no to Aldo’s request, and according to Aldo, White told GSP no to the former welterweight champ’s $10 million request to come out of his own retirement and fight McGregor.
