Breaking! Frankie Edgar says he will still be at UFC 222 this March!
Earlier today ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke some unfortunate news that current UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway had suffered an injury and was forced out of his scheduled main event title fight with Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 on March 3 in Las Vegas.
Shortly following the news, Ariel Helwani reported that the UFC was hoping to have Brian Ortega replace Max Holloway against Frankie Edgar in a non-title bout.
Now, just moments ago, Frankie Edgar took to social media where he issued Max Holloway a speedy recovery while adding that he still plans on being at UFC 222 this March in Las Vegas.
“Here we go again, definitely disappointed but fate wasn’t having it. I wish Max a speedy recovery but the show must go on. See you all in Vegas March 3rd!” – Frankie Edgar
