No surprises that another season of The Ultimate Fighter has created drama. This time, it’s more behind the scenes than in front of our faces and the two can’t even fight it out. Lauren Murphy has spoken out before about how she didn’t appreciate Eddie Alvarez’s coaching methods, stemming from how she felt she was treated after her first loss. Evidently this only continued throughout the filming of the show. She had even taken to her blog to talk more in detail about it. Alvarez recently was asked about their beef with each other and explained why she’s not exactly his favorite on his team either.
“I understand you’re there for yourself, but you didn’t even fight anybody on the other team yet. You didn’t even get past your first fight against Team Gaethje and you conspired two or three times already against the girls on our team that you’re gonna be in the gym with every day. So I’m like, man this [Lauren Murphy] is a little bit of a head case and she’s kind of looking at everyone as her enemy. It just didn’t make for a good attitude in the room or a good person to even have around. She was conspiring from the very beginning.”
Lol what a fucking idiot
It’s TUF, jackass, “team mates” fight each other all the time. https://t.co/P3JhUzecV2— Lauren Murphy (@LaurenMurphyMMA) October 13, 2017
“I’m not tooting my own horn, but if you have 10 fights you’re still a baby. You’re still kind of a baby — girl, guy, whoever you are. When you get a chance to be coached by Mark Henry, Marlon Moraes, and some of these guys who have just been through it, you should be nothing but appreciative. You should bow your head when they enter the room. You shouldn’t have a know-it-all attitude. That was my issue with that girl. I didn’t care — it was better if she didn’t come to practice. She had a shitty attitude. You guys will see the episodes and you’ll be able to judge for yourself.” — Eddie Alvarez speaking on MMA Tonight.
Just the idea that Eddie thought I should “bow my head” when he comes in the room is the exact reason Eddie and I will never get along😂 https://t.co/UDBIFZRYYD

As you can see, Murphy has already clapped back about Eddie Alvarez’s statements on Twitter. Sometimes, personalities just clash. You can’t please everyone all the time. As with anything, the truth of the matter probably lies somewhere in the middle between Murphy and Alvarez. Just like the former UFC lightweight champion said, we can watch the episodes and judge for ourselves. A new episode airs tonight on FS1 at 10pm EST.
