During last night’s UFC 208 prelims, the promotion announced that four fights had been added to April’s UFC on FOX 24 event in Kansas City.
The featured fight announced for the April 15 event being a pivotal women’s strawweight bout between Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson.
Prior to last night’s announcement, it had been heavily rumored that a featherweight bout between “The Korean Superboy” Doo Ho Choi and former bantamweight title holder Renan Barao would be headlining the event.
In fact, the proposed fight between Choi and Barao was actually posted to the UFC on FOX 24 event’s website but was done so in error.
UFC official tells me Choi-Barao is not happening despite the web posting that was apparently made in error.

Shortly after MMAJunkie’s John Morgan broke that news, FloCombat reported that the reason the Choi vs. Barao fight fell through was because “The Korean Superboy” was forced to pullout of the fight.
No further details were added on why Choi opted out of the fight.
According to the report, Renan Barao is now looking for a new featherweight opponent.
Doo Ho Choi was last seen in action at December’s UFC 206 event in Toronto where he suffered a decision loss to Cub Swanson in what many fans and analysts deem to be “the fight of the year”.
The setback marked the first of “The Korean Superboy’s” career.
As for Renan Barao, the former UFC bantamweight kingpin was last seen in action this past September where he earned a decision victory over Phillipe Nover.
Prior to that, Barao had suffered back-to-back losses against Jeremy Stephens and TJ Dillashaw respectively.
