With Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson both hailed as two of the most dominant champions in the UFC, many fans have been calling for the pair to have a rematch of their 2011 scrap that saw Cruz walk away with a unanimous decision.
Cruz, who is fresh off a dominant decision win over Urijah Faber at UFC 199, currently doesn’t have a fight set, but has verbally agreed to defend his belt against Cody Garbrandt.
Johnson on the other hand, is waiting to find out who the next challenger to his UFC flyweight championship will be. The UFC is currently in the middle of airing season 24 of The Ultimate Fighter, which will determine who will challenge Johnson next.
During a recent episode of UFC Tonight, Johnson spoke about a potential fight with Cruz, saying:
DJ on rematch w/ @DominickCruz: "I'll go up there if the money is right. Me and Dom talk about it occasionally, we want to make big money."
