Jon Jones became the UFC’s interim light heavyweight champion last night at UFC 197 in Las Vegas, this after he defeated “OSP” via unanimous decision in the evenings main event.
Jones was supposed to rematch current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at the event, however “DC” was forced to pull out of the bout with an injury.
According to a report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Dana White told him that if Cormier is medically cleared following an MRI on Monday, he and Jon Jones will headline UFC 200 this July.
