The MMA world was left in shock when UFC President Dana White announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor had been pulled from his scheduled bout against Nate Diaz at UFC 200, arguably the UFC’s biggest card in history.

While there was much speculation as to whether or not the UFC brass would eventually give in and put McGregor on the card once again, they stuck to their guns and McGregor was left on the sidelines.

Now, nearly a month after the decision was made, UFC President Dana White spoke on The Herd to discuss whether or not he regrets the decision.

“I think that many of the fans of the UFC would agree that we have given Conor a lot of leeway. So would the fighters,”

“We’ve give Conor a lot more leeway than we’ve given anybody else. He deserves it. Not only for being a star and being whatever but he steps up.”

“He steps up when we need him to and he’s done big things and I respect him for that and I respect him as a fighter. But, you cannot not show up for the press conference.

“You can’t do it. And I don’t care who you are, you have to do it.”
