Triple H Shows Conor McGregor Some Love on Twitter

Conor McGregor belts

On Saturday night, the UFC touched down in glimmering New York City for the very first time. They did so with UFC 205, a stacked card headlined by a lightweight title fight between divisional king Eddie Alvarez and featherweight champ Conor McGregor. The bout marked McGregor’s opportunity to become the first fighter in UFC history to wear two UFC titles simultaneously, and in the end, he accomplished this feat with apparent effortlessness. After dropping his foe three times in the first round, he polished him off with a lightning-quick, four-punch combo in the second. Alvarez hit the deck, and McGregor had earned his place in the history books.

UFC 205 also reset the record for the highest selling pay-per-view in UFC historysurpassing UFC 202, another McGregor helmed card, to do so. The card also set the live gate record for Madison Square Garden, which is an incredible feat considering the massive boxing matches, concerts, hockey games and basketball games that have occurred inside the hallowed venue. Like the PPV sale record that UFC 205 set, this accomplishment can be attributed to the incredible drawing power of McGregor.

In the wake of this massive evening of combat sports, many fighters, sports figures and other celebrities reached out to congratulate McGregor on all he’s accomplished. One of the latest people to do so is pro wrestling star Triple H.

The pro wrestler showed McGregor some love on Twitter, sharing a gif of McGregor’s “billionaire strut” synced up with that of Vince McMahon. The gif was accompanied by the hashtag #WhenYouKnowYoureTheMan.

Whether it’s for his incredible fighting ability, his talent for promotion, or his undeniable business savvy, there seem to be very few people out there who don’t possess a degree of admiration for Conor McGregor.

How do you feel about the transcendent Irish star, and who would you like to see him fight next? Sound off in the comments, PENN Nation!
