It has been reported that both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have verbally agreed to a welterweight rematch at this July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.
With that said, “The Stockton Slugger” doesn’t feel as if the UFC’s current featherweight champion is deserving of an immediate rematch, as he explained to ‘Rolling Stone‘ in a recent interview:
“I lost plenty of decisions and I’ve never got a rematch to this day, so that’s crazy. Conor got worked over and now they’re saying rematch, which makes sense, I understand that. I just think it’s funny because it’s like, Jose Aldo didn’t get a rematch.”
Following his loss to Diaz earlier this month, both “Mystic Mac” and UFC officials had stated that the next move would likely be his first featherweight title defense. However, it now appears that a rematch with Diaz at UFC 200 is all but official.
What do you think? Is Conor McGregor deserving of an immediate rematch with Nate Diaz, or should he be back at featherweight defending his title? Sound off PENN Nation!
