Conor McGregor’s attack on the UFC 223 fighter bus (see it here) nearly left the card without a co-main event, as UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas was badly rattled by the ordeal, having nearly been injured by one of the Irishman’s projectiles. Apparently, it was all severe enough that she was almost forced off the card.
Luckily, Namajunas is reported to have regrouped, and decided to compete as planned on Saturday night. This update comes from Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.
Rose Namajunas has decided to stay on the card, I’m told. She is feeling better.

“Rose Namajunas has decided to stay on the card, I’m told,” Helwani said in a Thursday evening Tweet. “She is feeling better.”
While Namajunas will fight on Saturday as planned, the verdict is still out on Michael Chiesa, who sustained several facial lacerations after McGregor through a dolly through the back window of the fighter bus. The lightweight, who is scheduled to fight Anthony Pettis on the UFC 223 main card, is currently in hospital were the severity of his wounds is being assessed.
While Chiesa’s immediate future is uncertain, UFC featherweight Artem Lobov’s is. Having played a role in McGregor’s rampage, Lobov has been ejected from the UFC 223 undercard, where he was supposed to fight Alex Caceres.
