Back in 2014, it was revealed that the UFC had signed former WWE champion CM Punk, despite the pro wrestler having zero competitive MMA experience.
After a lengthy search, UFC President Dana White discovered 1-0 amateur MMA fighter Mickey Gall during his “Dana White: Lookin’ For A Fight” web series.
The pair were initially supposed to fight at UFC 200, however a back injury sidelined Punk indefinitely, and talks of the fight died down considerably.
Now, Gall has taken to Twitter to update fans on the situation:
4 every1 askin I hear Punk and I r fighting late summer. I don't have an official date. If I did I would tell ya. But we r for sure fighting
