Former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes (18-4 MMA) returned to action at tonight’s UFC Fight Night event in Boise, Idaho against Myles Jury.
The fight marked Chad’s first bout since December of 2015 when he was defeated by Frankie Edgar via first-round knockout.
When the fight started it was Chad’s opponent Myles Jury who found early success.
Jury used his jab and some effective low kicks to keep his heavy handed opponent at bay.
However, midway through round one Mendes would find a home for a big left hand which sent Jury crashing to the canvas.
Mendes immediately charged after his injured opponent and followed Jury to the floor.
Once there, Mendes began unleashing some heavy ground and pound. Jury would attempt to scramble free but Mendes was relentless with his attack and forced the referee to step in and call a stop to the contest.

Nice knockdown, ordinary stoppage. None of those shots landed on anything other than arm/glove on Jury.
