Bellator 209 took place yesterday evening, but aired on tape delay tonight on DAZN.

The event, which marked Bellator’s first in nearly a month, was headlined by a featherweight title fight featuring reigning division champion Patricio Freire taking on Emmanuel Sanchez.

Patricio Freire entered tonight’s Bellator 209 main event on a two-fight win streak, his latest being a split-decision victory over Daniel Weichel at Bellator 203.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Sanchez (17-3 MMA) entered the Bellator 209 main event having won his last four fights in a row.

In the co-main event of Bellator 209, Ryan Couture took on Haim Gozali in a welterweight rematch.

Also on the card was former Bellator light heavyweight champion Phil Davis who took on feared knockout artist Vadim Nemkov.
