Former UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis calls out Michael Johnson

Michael “The Menace” Johnson scored a brutal first-round knockout victory over Dustin Poirier in the main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 94 event in Hidalgo, Texas.

Johnson was able to slip a Poirier combination and then catch “The Diamond” with a big counter right hand, followed by a straight left, which sent Dustin crashing to the canvas.

Johnson quickly followed up on Poirier with some viscous ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and stop the bout.

In his post-fight interview, “The Menace” stated his desire to fight on November’s historic UFC 205 fight card in New York.

Immediately following Johnson’s big win and post-fight interview, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis took to Twitter where he announced that he would be willing to return to 155-pounds to fight “The Menace”.

“Showtime” recently made his featherweight debut, this after suffering three straight losses at 155-pounds, where he submitted Charles Oliveira in the co-main event of UFC on FOX in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Michael Johnson was made aware of Pettis’ callout during a post-fight interview with FOX Sports, this is what “The Menace” has to say on a potential fight with Anthony:

“If Anthony Pettis wants to fight 55. He dropped to 45 didn’t he? I’m pretty sure I called him out a long time ago and he went to 45. But if he wants to fight, then Anthony I’m your man. I’m all for it. He’s a great ex-champ and a great guy. I would love to fight him.”

Who would you prefer to see Anthony Pettis fight in his next bout, Michael Johnson at lightweight or current UFC interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo at 145-pounds? Sound off PENN Nation!
