These are never the kinds of stories that anyone wants to hear about whether it’s in the sports world or just everyday life.
Last week it was reported that UFC flyweight Andrea Lee had been the victim of an assault by her husband Donny Aaron.
A few months prior, Aaron and Lee had found themselves in some hot water as a picture the couple took revealed Aaron’s Nazi-related tattoos that he would end up refusing to get covered up or removed.
Since the incident which took place on August 4th, a warrant has been put out for Aaron’s arrest.
Today, Lee took to social media to briefly address the situation.

I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words over the past week. Every post, tweet, comment does not go unnoticed. My family and I are handling this situation to the best of our ability, as this is a very sensitive issue and one that as a public figure I wish was not taking place in a public forum. I respectfully ask that everyone respects our privacy at this time as we work towards resolutions and closure. I look forward to returning to the octagon and resuming my winning ways in the near future. Competing has always been a sanctuary for me and brings great joy to my life.

Lee is currently 1-0 in the UFC (9-2 overall) after making her successful debut back in May at UFC Chile when she defeated Veronica Macedo by unanimous decision.
Upon entering the UFC, Lee has proven to be one of the flyweight division’s brightest potential contenders as evidenced by her success in Invicta FC as well as LFA and Legacy FC where she won titles.
