Anderson Silva was the king of the UFC middleweight division for over six years, convincingly taking the belt from Rich Franklin at UFC 64.

Silva would go on to defend his middleweight title 10 times, setting the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history.

Silva’s supremacy came to a stunning end when “The Spider” met Chris Weidman in the Octagon at UFC 162 on July 6, 2013. Weidman shocked the world when he knocked Silva out cold in the second round of their fight. Silva is still currently looking to get a win since being put away by Weidman back in 2013.

Silva’s last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Michael Bisping in February. Their fight had a bit of controversy in it with Silva just a punch or two away from completely finishing Bisping. However, Bisping picked up the win over Silva and went on to win the UFC middleweight title in his next bout against Luke Rockhold, showing that Silva is still more than capable of contesting the best middleweights in the world.
