Alan Jouban and Gunnar Nelson may have went to battle inside the octagon yesterday in London, but that didn’t stop the UFC welterweights from getting together to talk fight strategies over a drink post-fight.
Jouban, who was submitted by Nelson in the second-round of their co-main bout at UFC Fight Night 107, took to his Instagram where he shared the following photo:
The photo was captioned by the following statement from Jouban.
“Just had a great conversation with this man at the bar and I enjoyed the talk of strategies and respect amongst us. Fight game is a harsh game of win or lose. But respect at the end is an element overlooked sometimes. I will be back I promise that! In the mean time you enjoy the moments of growth. Cheers from LONDON to everyone.”
The loss to Gunnar put an end to Alan Jouban’s impressive three-fight win streak which saw him score wins over Brendan O’Reilly, Belal Muhammad and most recently Mike Perry.
Meanwhile, the submission victory over Jouban marked Gunnar Nelson’s second straight win as he had previously defeated Albert Tumenov in May of 2016 with a rear-naked choke.
Prior to that, “Gunni” was coming off a unanimous decision loss to top UFC welterweight contender Demian Maia which occurred at UFC 194.
