The CM Punk MMA show isn’t over just yet.
As expected, the former professional wrestling superstar for the WWE, Phil “CM Punk” Brooks will be giving MMA another go after his dreadful debut back at UFC 203 in September of 2016.
According to Punk today when responding to someone on Twitter who asked when we’ll see him crying in the octagon again…he responded with the following:
June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team https://t.co/TmzRWR2kbn

This date comes as a no-brainer for Punk’s sophomore appearance as the event is UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. If you’re unaware of how popular CM Punk was in the WWE and is in Chicago…just check out the video below.
At that fateful night of September 10th for UFC 203, Punk’s night in the cage couldn’t have gone much worse. He took on the young and talented prospect, Mickey Gall and was unable to land a single punch in the two minutes and fourteen seconds that the fight lasted before Punk tapped out to a rear-naked-choke.
Who Punk’s next opponent will be is still to be determined. But the most likely option has been the man who Gall defeated to get the fight with Punk, Mike Jackson who made his pro debut vs Gall.
Jackson has been campaigning for the fight probably more than anyone and after seeing the tweet himself, he hints at potentially being the opponent.

Other more crazy opponent rumors have gone as far as the boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather who has seemingly teased an MMA transition himself. That, of course, has yet to reach any sort of reality.
Are you interested in CM Punk’s return? How many more times will he try his hand at MMA, win or lose?
