We’re only nine days away from the illustrious return of Georges St-Pierre, who will challenge Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title. Promotion is just heating up this week with the conference calls and media obligations. Out of nowhere, an allegation comes from a person accusing Bisping of grabbing him by the throat in the gym and shouting insults at him for taking his weights. Today on the UFC 217 conference call, Michael Bisping says that there is no truth to it at all.

He opened up further on the allegations during the UFC 217 Media Lunch:

“Total bollocks. There’s your comment. I haven’t even been served with papers. They’re suing the UFC, they’re suing 24-Hour Fitness, they’re suing William Morris Endeavor, they’re suing Michael Bisping. So, good luck with that. It’s completely infactual. From what I’ve read about it so far, there’s many, many contradictions. Obviously, it’s a lawsuit, so I don’t want to say too much, but I can just say I’m not losing too much sleep and it’s not correct. “You tell me. It happened months ago. It seems very, very tactical. ‘Oh, let’s bring it out a week before the biggest fight of his life.’ Bring some attention to it, perhaps. Look for a settlement. I’m already saying too much. Good job.” — Micheal Bisping via MMA Fighting. 

The new info here is that it’s not just a lawsuit against Bisping himself, but three companies including the UFC and WME. With very little details, it certainly seems suspicious at the very least coming on the heels of the UFC’s biggest pay-per-view so far this year. The good thing is that, whatever this whole lawsuit is about, it won’t interfere with Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre from headlining UFC 217 next weekend.
