Just a couple of hours ago, it was announced that Thiago Alves wasn’t going to make it to UFC Pittsburgh to fight Mike Perry due to undisclosed reasons. Along with the recent Jon Jones and Jesse Taylor news today, a co-main event falling through was just icing on the bad day cake. Before we even put up the tissues, ‘Platinum’ Perry jumped back on the interwebs to let us know not to worry. Someone has already stepped up to fight him in place of the UFC veteran.

The opponent hasn’t been confirmed by the UFC or any source yet, but Mike Perry himself sent respect to Alex Reyes for fighting him on short notice. If this comes together, Alexander “The Executioner” Reyes, former King of the Cage lightweight champion will make his UFC debut. He just fought for the first time in two years on August 24th and won by first-round knockout. He will join his brother, Dominick Reyes, who just made his UFC debut with a lightning fast 29-second TKO victory over Joachim Christensen.
