The next title fight in the ever-exciting UFC bantamweight division will pit reigning champion Cody Garbrandt against former champion and estranged teammate TJ Dillashaw at a to-be-determined date. Before the two bantamweight stars collide for gold, however, they will star as opposing coaches on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Garbrandt and Dillashaw’s time on the show, has given their already sizzling beef plenty of time to slow-cook.
A central pillar of the pair’s beef surrounds a video from their days as training partners at Sacramento’s Team Alpha Male, which reportedly shows Garbrandt knocking Dillashaw out in a training session. Over the last few weeks, Garbrandt and his team have threatened to release this video and have even been offered $50,000 by TMZ to do so. So far, however, they have not shared.
According to Dillashaw’s coach Duane Ludwig, who appeared on Wednesday’s edition of BJ Penn Radio, Garbrandt and his camp should just go ahead and release this video, and stop talking about it. His words:
“Release it, it doesn’t matter, what the hell,” Ludwig said of this infamous video. “It’s just a high school girl situation. We shouldn’t even be talking about this. It’s retarded. I feel like I’ve matured past the high school drama. It’s a trip to hear other grown-ass men with all these ‘he said, she said’ things. It’s crazy to me. My goal is to help people get better in their lives, not to back-track and talk about drama. But that’s the show right? That’s why some people are f*cking interested in it.”
“But yeah, release the f*cking video,” he continued. “You’ve got the video? Release the video. I don’t care, TJ doesn’t care… from what I understand [the knockout] was from a wrestling scramble.”
Do you think we’ll ever see this alleged video of Cody Garbrandt knocking out TJ Dillashaw? Sound off, PENN Nation!
