Friday, UFC President Dana White revealed in an interview that the UFC had officially booked a featherweight title unification fight between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and interim featherweight champion Max Holloway. Unfortunately, White couldn’t remember the date for the bout. Later in the day, reports began surfacing that revealed Aldo and Holloway would be having their fight on June 3rd at UFC 212.

Shortly after, Holloway took to Twitter with a brief statement on the bout, saying:

It's time to put up or shut up #teamblessedmma

Holloway of course will be entering into the bout on a 10-fight win streak that has seen him go undefeated for the past two years, most recently, he defeated Anthony Pettis to win the interim featherweight title at UFC 206 in December. On the other hand, Aldo recently returned to the win column this past summer when he defeated Frankie Edgar via unanimous decision, marking his first win since being knocked out by Conor McGregor at UFC 194.

Holloway had been calling Aldo out for quite some time before the fight was announced. Since winning the interim belt in December by knocking out Anthony Pettis, Holloway called out Aldo several times, calling the featherweight champ ‘Waldo’ in reference to the popular “Where’s Waldo” series of books.
