Following her decision loss to Raquel Pennington at this past Saturday’s historic UFC 205 event in New York, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate shocked the world by announcing her retirement from mixed martial arts.

In the above video, “The Thrill and The Agony Preview”, Miesha Tate announces to her boyfriend Bryan Caraway that she is done with the fight game.

“I’m not showing up anymore in here. I don’t care enough.” Tate told her long time boyfriend Bryan Caraway.

“You show up in practice.” Bryan replied.

“I just… I don’t have it anymore.” Miesha responded.

It appears that Bryan Caraway was trying to convince “Cupcake” to rethink her shocking decision but Tate was not having it.

“I don’t want to fight anymore, Bryan. I don’t want to do this anymore.” Miesha concluded.

Miesha went on to announce her retirement during her post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

“I am announcing my retirement you guys. I love you all so much. I have been doing this for over a decade.”

Tate, who had won the UFC women’s bantamweight champion at UFC 196 this past March by submitting Holly Holm, was dominated by Pennington throughout the fight, particularly in the stand-up.

The setback marked her second in a row, as Tate had previously lost her title to Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 200.

Tate is nothing short of an Icon in women’s mixed martial arts.

She finished her remarkable career with an 18-7 record and won both the Strikeforce and UFC women’s bantamweight titles during her career.

Were you as shocked as us with the announcement? Sound off PENN Nation!
