Current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will look to make history by defeating current UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez this Saturday night in New York.

If the brash Irish star is able to dethrone Alvarez in the evenings main event, he will become the first fighter in the promotions history to hold two belts simultaneously.

“Mystic Mac” was showcased on the UFC’s official Snapchat account earlier today where he confidently posed with two UFC belts.

The photo was captioned with the following statement: “Let me save you the trouble of having to take my picture Saturday night.”

Conor McGregor was last seen in action at August’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas where he scored a majority decision victory over bitter rival Nate Diaz, this after the pair engaged in a twenty-five minute slugfest that was voted “Fight of the night”.

Prior to that, “Mystic Mac” had suffered a second-round submission loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 this past March. Both of Conor’s fights with Nate took place inside the UFC’s welterweight division (170-pounds).

Since joining the UFC ranks, McGregor has gone 8-1, scoring finishes in six of those eights wins.

Meanwhile, Eddie Alvarez became the UFC lightweight champion this past July in Las Vegas when he knocked out former division kingpin Rafael dos Anjos in the very first-round.

Prior to that, Alvarez had scored split-decision victories over Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis respectively.
