Gegard Mousasi claims Conor McGregor threatened him with a knife

Gegard Mousasi returns at Bellator 200

Former Strikeforce and Dream champion Gegard Mousasi picked up another big win this past Saturday in Machester when he scored a second-round TKO victory over former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in the co-main event of UFC 204.

The victory vaulted Mousasi in to the top 5 of the UFC’s stacked middleweight division and has him closer than ever before to a shot at UFC gold.

Following his UFC 204 victory over “The Phenom”, Mousasi made headlines at the evening’s post-fight press conference when he called out the middleweight divisions best fighters and then took some serious verbal jabs at the promotions biggest star, current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

According to Gegard, when McGregor caught wind of his UFC 204 post-fight press conference remarks about the Irishman being nothing but a loud mouth trash talker, Conor actually sent him a private message where he threatened him with a knife!

Here is what Mousasi told FloCombat in a recent interview:

“People liked it.” Mousasi said. “I just spoke the truth. Sometimes you have to say stupid sh*t before people notice you. I got a private message from Conor McGregor. He was cursing at me, the little f**k. He was threatening me. I said ‘What are you going to do with your 50 kilos?’ The f****r was threatening me with a knife. He knows I could beat his ass any day.”

He continued:

“I said some stuff that I didn’t mean,” Mousasi said. “I said ‘People don’t know who the real fighter is or not.’ Of course he’s a top fighter. English is not my first language and I just blurt stuff out sometimes. I thought it was funny that he was messaging me.”

The current UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, has yet to confirm or deny that he actually threatened Gegard Mousasi in a private message.

Meanwhile,Gegard Mousasi has now won three fights in row and five of his past six octagon appearances overall.
