Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was slated to fight Uriah Hall this Saturday at UFC 198. Unfortunately for Silva, the week of the fight, he was experiencing gallbladder pain which was later diagnosed as an inflammation of his gallbladder.

Silva was taken to the hospital, and had his gallbladder removed on Wednesday. Fortunately for ‘The Spider’ the recovery time is expected to be 4-6 weeks, giving him just enough time to prepare for a fight at UFC 200.

His physical trainer, Rogerio Camoes, spoke to Sherdog.com about the situation:

“Thank God everything went fine and Anderson is already planning his return. He told me, ‘Master, pack everything up. We’re going to UFC 200.’ The most important thing is that he kept his mind strong and didn’t lose his motivation. On the contrary, he’s really motivated to take part at that historical UFC 200 event.”
